The Red Ball is an item that can be unboxed from the Happy Red Gift of Fun, a gift available from December 17th, 2015 until December 25th, 2015. Each ball has a unique number that is determined upon how many times the Happy Red Gift of Fun has been opened before, unless it has been glitched (See Glitches below for more information).
According to Defaultio, the balls are an economic experiment to see if players would trade for balls with certain numbers. The ball number continues to increase every day.
Aside from trading, the Red Ball can be used for its ability to roll, which makes interesting inventions. Learn more about the Red Ball here.
Glitches
Both the Red Ball and its cousins the Blue Ball and Green Ball will not go up a Tilted Conveyor unless a player, log/plank, or dynamite interacts with it.
Currently, at least one player has at least 2 Red Balls with the same number.
